Dr. John "Jack" W. Fulkman III is the owner of and clinician at Gateway Chiropractic - South Shore, PLLC. He earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College in 2002 and holds postgraduate certifications in Sports Medicine and Acupuncture. Part of Dr. Fulkman's training included an orthopedic spine surgery rotation at UTMB in Galveston. He received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Gannon University (Erie , PA ), where he was a standout running back in varsity football. He also attended graduate school at West Virginia University.
Dr. Fulkman is a native of New Castle, PA a northern suburb of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in the profession by his great-grandfather, George Fulkman Sr., who graduated from Palmer School of Chiropractic in 1923.
Sports Medicine is a passion for Dr. Fulkman. He has been the team doctor for Clear Lake High School for 10 years and serves or has served as the team chiropractor for Clear Creek, Dickinson, Texas City and Clear Falls High Schools. He also enjoys providing event support to area road races, fun runs, CrossFit, elementary school events and triathlons (including the Ironman 70.3 and Ironman Texas National Championship again this year). Dr. Fulkman helps educate the community about his profession with ongoing lectures and presentations to medical clinics, NASA/Safety events, as well as the Greater Houston Athletic Trainers Society (GHATS) annual continuing education meetings.
Advancement of the profession is another focus of his and formally an appointed member of the Board of Regents of Texas Chiropractic College where served Chair of the Clinical Committee and Executive Committee. He also served a the Chief of Clinical Operations at Moody Health Center at TCC.
Dr. Fulkman is married to Dr. Deb Palazzi, an Infectious Disease Pediatrician with Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. The couple resides in League City with their son John W. Fulkman IV, "Jake".
